Glencoe Woolshed

Glencoe Woolshed, Glencoe SA 5291
Welcome to the Glencoe Woolshed and your journey back to the era of the early Pioneer Pastoralists. The shearing/wool shed is unique as it was never converted to mechanised shearing and it has now been converted into a museum of original and historic blade shearing and wool handling processes. Built in 1863, this fine building has hand adzed, cathedral like arched Blackwood beams with supporting posts of pit sawn Blackwood. The Glencoe Woolshed is a remarkable building and provides visitors with a real insight into the history of agriculture in the region. Call at Glencoe General Store for key.

Wright Robertson of Glencoe

8262 New England Highway, 'Waratah Ridge', Glencoe NSW 2365
Welcome to Wright Robertson, specializing in handcrafted, cool climate wines and located in New England, Australia's newest and most extreme wine region. With vineyards located at 1140 and 1350 metres above sea level, they grow grapes in the two highest vineyards in Australia. These vineyards are unique in terms of extremes of cold and diurnal temperature fluctuations. This cold beginning to their wines helps them to craft elegant wines of superb natural acidity and delicate fruit, reflective of the high country between Glen Innes and Armidale. They love this place, and the people. Each season in New England presents both its natural beauty and challenges, with each being a distinct contrast to the one before. And amongst this, they are making wine by hand, on site in a very natural way. They'd love to show you what they do, and introduce you to the best New England has to offer.
