The Wetlands were developed in 1988 as a bicentennial project in an aim to preserve habitat primarily for native bird species. Take a stroll on the walking trail through the grounds and enjoy the view from the view from the raised platforms. Take a trip on a miniature steam or diesel locomotive, winding through the beautiful Jabiru Geneebeinga Wetlands before skirting the Casino golf course. Whilst you enjoy your journey take a free tour at the railway museum, indulging yourself in the history of Casino's railroading past, located at the old Casino station. An afternoon at the mini-rail is great for children's birthday parties or a family get together! Bring a picnic and choose a nice spot to enjoy it by the wetlands or enjoy the covered picnic tables near the North Casino Station. The wetlands are abundant with native wildlife including a pair of nesting Jabiru which comes to the area during breeding season. Run by a voluntary charity organisation, the team at the mini-rail are passionate about Casino's rail history with all ticket sales proceeds returned to the museum and running of the mini-rail.

Situated on the corner of Centre and Walker Streets Casino is the Hotel Cecil. The Hotel Cecil is right in the Heart of town so come on down and meet the friendly staff or visit the Cecil's Drive through Bottle shop. Formally the Imperial Hotel, the Cecil was moved in 1901 from the corner of North and Walker Streets. The building was cut in sections and moved by Bullock teams to its current location. It is now named The Hotel Cecil. Featuring Sophie's Restaurant and Backroom Bar and Beats, the Hotel Cecil is your local family hotel.

The Casino Folk Museum has an amazing collection of photographs, artefacts and machinery, with a focus on local history of the Casino district. The friendly volunteers will be happy to show you around. The Casino and District Historical Society was formed in 1965 with the aim of preserving all aspects of Australian culture, local Aboriginal and settler artefacts and implements, tools of the trade, furniture, newspapers, photographs, diaries and much more. Group bookings are most welcome and morning tea can be provided at a small cost.

Early morning or late afternoon from both the eastern and the western side of the bridge, you may be lucky enough to view the platypus swimming or feeding in their natural environment. There are also fish, water fowl and ducks to be seen. There are walks down to the river bank where you can have a closer look at the magnificant platypus sculpture. Following a short and well trodden, but rough track that brings you out at the weir. Small and medium sized vehicle access to a viewing platform by the river is through River Street's Webb Park ramp. The turning circle at the river's edge is not large enough for vans, trucks and RV's. The tiny town of Bentley sits 23 kilometres north-west of Lismore on the Kyogle Road. It was named after Great Bentley in England, the birthplace of the owner who built Bentley Homestead in the 1870s. Bentley has become recognised throughout Australia for its annual art competition. Held in August at the Bentley Hall, the Bentley Art Prize offers AUD1,000 for first prize for its open section and a AUD1,000 acquisition prize. Hundreds of artists from New South Wales and Queensland enter with the Aboriginal art section gaining an impressive reputation. In April 2014 residents of Bentley and the Northern Rivers gathered in Bentley to form the 'Bentley Blockade', a protest opposing a drill site from unconventional Coal Seam Gas miners. This successful protest has led to the Northern Rivers being declared gas field free....
