Captain Charles Sturt's passage through Narrandera on 12 December 1829 is recorded on a memorial where the explorer's party passed on their epic journey along the Murrumbidgee River. Local lore has it that Sturt marked a tree on the site of this memorial, which is situated at Narrandera on the northern bank of the Murrumbidgee River just west of the Newell Highway at the entrance to the Narrandera Wetlands.

Narrandera's Rail Bridge was taken out of service in the 1980s when rail services ceased. The Narrandera Rail Bridge is merited in heritage listings to have significant merit in engineering heritage.

Inspired by his father, an expert craftsman of boomerangs for hunting and throwing, Michael Lyons inherited the skills and patience to perfect the art of making boomerangs and artefacts with earthy colours and traditional designs. A descendant of the Wiradjuri nation, Michael leads cultural tours around his traditional country, teaching about bush foods and survival. Michael also welcomes visitors to his workshop by the river on Bamblett Street, where he beautifully crafts his didgeridoos, boomerangs, coolamons, emu eggs, clap sticks, and other artefacts.

The Tiger Moth Memorial is of the No. 8 Elementary Flying School. In August 1940, an air school was established at Narrandera on the site of the present airport by the Royal Australian Air Force. The school was the No. 8 Elementary Flying Training School, where over the next five years during World War II, 3,818 student pilots commenced their elementary flying training on DH82 Tiger Moth Aircraft. The memorial features a DH82 Tiger Moth Aircraft as used at the training school, a comprehensive collection of model aeroplanes, and a range of photographic and other memorabilia.

The Paddle Steamer Wagga Wagga was the last of the Murrumbidgee paddle steamers. It spent forty years servicing the waterways between Mildura and Wagga Wagga carting timer, wool and provisions. In 1918 it sprang a leak and was run aground on a sandbar and left to rot. Use the viewing platform to see it. Only visible when water levels are low.

This is listed as one of the best golf courses by Golf Digest. A magnificent 18 hole course set within a cypress pine forest. Narrandera's Golf Course is consistently rated in the top 100 courses in Australia, and is acknowledged as the premier course of the Riverina. The gently undulating course meanders its way through a picturesque setting, and the challenging layout is presented in top condition all year round. Extensions have been carried out recently and there is a great covered outdoor area that is perfect for group barbecues. A play area has also been erected for children visiting the Golf Club. Narrandera has a rich heritage dating from old riverboat days and there is much to explore away from the golf course. Pro Shop, club and cart hire, private lessons and clinics are available. The club holds a Veteran's Week of Golf each October.

The Parkside Cottage Museum is situated in a century-old building and was established in 1968. It holds some extremely important items including a first-rate yesteryear Telecom equipment display, a set of silver ingots marking 1,000 years of monarchy, and an extensive and valuable worldwide collection of shells. The celebrated scarlet coloured merino cloak is also on display and is the only one of its kind in the world, made from the first bale of wool sent to England by the Macarthur family in 1816.

In the foreground of Saint Mel's Catholic Church, the Frieze Monument recognises the poet-priest John O'Brien of 'Around the Boree Log' fame. In his 27 years in Narrandera, Father Patrick Hartigan, Catholic Priest and writer, wrote some of this country's most loved bush poetry. 'We'll all be rooned!' said Hanrahan, 'before the year is out!', is a well known line from his poem 'Said Hanrahan'. Narrandera's Big Playable Guitar is on display at the Narrandera Visitor Information Centre. The guitar was built in 1988 by Narrandera expatriate, Robert Palmer, to help promote the Country Music Club of Narrandera. Made from plywood and measuring 5.820 by 2.019 metres, the guitar took more than 300 hours to complete. Narrandera's Big Guitar features in several 'Big Things' publications and web sites, and visitors are encouraged to take photos and even try their hand at strumming a tune.

The Hankinson Memorial Fountain is a ceramic fountain created by Royal Doulton. It is located in Narrandera within the Memorial Gardens East Street and Victoria Avenue. There are only two of these fountains known to be in existence, the other one being in Pakistan. The ceramic Royal Doulton fountain was presented to the people of Narrandera by Ald RH and Mrs Hankinson in 1922 "in honour of all those in Narrandera and District who served in the Great War 1914-1918." The fountain remains a fitting tribute to Mr Hankinson who stands in local history as one of the area's most civic minded citizens.

The track consists of three loops - the short loop (three kilometres), Lake Talbot loop (seven kilometres) and the Murrumbidgee loop (11 kilometres) and follows a scenic route around Lake Talbot and the majestic Murrumbidgee River. The track was designed to take advantage of the natural features such as rocky hills, gullies, high river banks, sandy beaches, irrigation channels and in some cases rough vehicular tracks. The round journey is 11 kilometres long and takes about four hours to complete. The track passes across the top end of the local koala regeneration reserve on the river.

The Lake Talbot Lookout provides a scenic view of Lake Talbot, the main irrigation canal, and the surrounding nature reserve. Walking tracks commence from the lookout and continue around the lake. Lake Talbot itself is an artificial lake, located only 1.5 kilometres from the town centre, which is ideal for boating, canoeing and water skiing. The lake adjoins the Lake Talbot swimming complex and Lake Talbot Caravan Park. Lake Talbot is the scene, from time to time, of the Australian and NSW skiing titles. Each January the NSW water ski association holds the Zone 5 Championships on the lake which is especially suitable for water skiing. The trailing willows break the turbulence caused by boat and skier.

The theatrette presents a video on the centres research into endangered and threatened species, it provides visitors with a better understanding about conservation and breeding of native fish species and while observing the spawning and breeding techniques. Feed the fish with a bag of pellets and see the fish rise. Visitors can make the most of their trip with a picnic on the beautiful lawns, free barbecues and toilets facilities.
