Passing Clouds

30 Roddas Ln, Musk VIC 3461

Passing Clouds has moved. Long famed for strongly regional Bendigo reds, the estate is now headquartered at Daylesford in the beautiful spa country of Central Victoria. Cameron Leith says 'the clouds do a little less passing' there, stating the difficulties a lack of rain presented at the old vineyard. Factor in global warming, and the move to cooler climates made great sense. Graeme Leith has long enjoyed a reputation as a top Pinot Noir maker, and Passing Clouds will now concentrate more on this variety and cool grown Chardonnay.' - Ralph Kyte-Powel Established in 1974 by Graeme Leith and Sue Mackinnon Passing Clouds has consistently produced wines of exemplarily quality with the power to age gracefully. Indeed the 1980 Shiraz Cabernets are still drinking beautifully. Graeme and his son Cameron (who has taken over the winemaking) have recently relocated their winery to Daylesford, in the Macedon Ranges - a location where the clouds do a little less passing! They still produce their acclaimed Bendigo reds for which they have built a strong and loyal following over the years, but the range is now complemented by cool climate Pinot Noir's, Chardonnay and Sparkling. The fruit is meticulously cared for as naturally as possible, there are several passes of each vine per season, ensuring every bunch is in the optimum position. As winemakers we guide the fruit from vineyard into bottle gently, using traditional winemaking techniques. Passing Clouds wine is available via cellar email or from the new cellar door in Musk, come and say G'day 11am - 5pm seven days.
